THE SANY SY35U Pro

The SY35U has been a staple in the SANY lineup for years—reliable, compact, and tough as nails. But like anything built to work hard, it was only a matter of time before it leveled up.

You asked—and SANY listened.

Blade options have made their debut—starting with float and expanding into full-angle blade configurations—but that was just the beginning. Now, the SY35 lineup isn’t just about blade options. It’s offering roomier cabs, boosted hydraulic versatility, and the ability to spec your machine to match the way you work.

In this blog, we’re putting the standard SY35U and the new SY35U Pro side-by-side—so you can see what’s new, what’s different, and why operators are calling it a game-changer.

The SY35U Mini Excavator

For years, the SANY SY35U has held its ground as a go-to in the mini excavator world. Comparable to machines like the CAT 303.5, Kubota KX040, and Deere 35G, the SY35U sits in the most versatile and widely used class of minis out there.

From trenching utility lines to clearing lots, landscaping, and prepping job sites, this machine has built its reputation on showing up and getting it done. Here’s why operators keep coming back to it:

  • Zero-tail swing for confident control in tight quarters
  • 8,499 lb operating weight that balances serious power with easy transport
  • Built-in versatility for thumbs, breakers, multiple buckets, and more
  • Best-in-class warranty — 5 years / 5,000 hours of peace of mind

If you’re looking for a dependable mini that works as hard as you do, the SY35U’s got your back—day in and day out.

The Standard SY35U Setup – Dependable as Ever

"Fully loaded" has always been more than a tagline for SANY—it’s a promise. And with the 2025 SY35 lineup, that promise is leveling up.

The standard SY35 already comes packed with features designed to boost jobsite performance, but with the launch of the all-new SY35 Pro, even the base model gets a few upgrades. We’re spreading the wealth here.

So what’s actually changed?

Until late 2024, every SY35 shipped with a traditional 2-way straight blade. But starting with late 2024 production, SANY began a major shift, moving toward a new standard configuration that includes

A. Float functionality on every SY35, regardless of model

B. The addition of a Diverter Valve ensures your hydraulics can support a variety of attachments.

C. Additional blade option should you wish to upgrade.

Blade Configurations by Model:

  • Canopy models: Straight blade only (with float)
  • Cab models: Choose between a straight blade or the upgraded angle blade (both with float)

The straight blade remains a go-to for trenching, backfilling, and basic site prep—it’s simple, rugged, and effective. But for those looking for more control, the cab-equipped Pro model delivers even more flexibility.

What Do These Upgrades Mean for My Performance?

Here’s how each feature translates to time saved, smoother work, and a better experience in the seat:

Float Blade: Gives the blade the ability to glide along the surface without applying downward pressure—perfect for back-dragging, final grading, and reducing turf or finish damage. Think of it like dragging your finger over a bumpy surface—rather than stopping at every rise, the blade glides over it smoothly, adjusting to the terrain with minimal operator input. Less operator finesse needed. Cleaner results, faster.

Angle Blade: Push spoils or grade at an angle without repositioning the machine. Speeds up trench backfill, site cleanup, and sloping work. Fewer passes. Less wear. More control. You can push material off and to the side rather than having to move forward and reverse at an angle.

Diverter Valve: Allows you to easily toggle hydraulic flow between multiple attachments (like a thumb and breaker).

Upgraded Cab: Quieter, more comfortable, and better laid out for all-day work. With improved insulation, HVAC options, larger space and refined ergonomics, you’re sharper longer—and less worn out at the end of the shift.

What Sets the SY35 Pro Apart?

Now we know… we know. The angle blade has been one of the top requests in our VOC (Voice of Customer) feedback—and we get it. Flexibility on the jobsite is non-negotiable, and adding blade control is a big step toward building the ideal compact earthmover.

But the blade isn’t the only upgrade that earns this model the “Pro” title. The SY35 Pro is a full-package upgrade—bringing meaningful improvements in operator comfort, hydraulic performance, and fine control.

Here’s where the Pro earns its name:

✔️ Blade Technology

  • Angle blade (cab models only): Push, slope, backfill, and clean up—without repositioning the whole machine
  • Float functionality is standard, giving operators smoother back-dragging and finish passes across all terrains

✔️ Cab Comfort

  • Redesigned cab layout with improved visibility and intuitive control placement
  • Upgraded seat, optional HVAC, and more operator-friendly ergonomics
  • Better insulation = lower noise and less fatigue over long shifts

✔️ Hydraulic Enhancements

  • Refined, responsive hydraulics for smoother multi-function operation (dig, lift, and swing simultaneously with precision)
  • Faster auxiliary flow for running thumbs, breakers, or other attachments
  • Increased fine motor control—especially noticeable during trench work, cleanup, and finish grading

The SY35 Pro wasn’t built to look flashier—it was built to work harder, operate smoother, and keep up with serious crews who demand more from their compact excavators.

A SY35U Setup Built for You

With mid-year rollouts and evolving configurations, it’s easy to get confused about which SY35U features appeared when. Here’s a simple breakdown of what to expect based on production date:

Time FrameFloat BladeAngle BladeUpgraded CabHydraulic Diverter
Mid-2024 & Earlier❌ Not available❌ Not available❌ Not availableAfter Market Only
Late 2024 – Early 2025✅ (STD & Pro)✅ (Pro)✅ (Pro)✅ (STD & Pro)
2025 to Present✅ (STD & Pro)✅ (Pro)✅ (Pro)✅ (STD & Pro)
A Few Key Notes:
  • All SY35s produced in 2025 and beyond include float blade functionality as standard.
  • Cab upgrades and the angle blade configuration are exclusive to the closed cab Pro configuration.
  • A hydraulic diverter valve becomes standard on both Standard and Pro machines starting in 2025.

Here’s a quick breakdown to help decide:

ModelBest ForWhy It Works
Standard BladeBudget buys, simple tasksReliable for basic backfill & support
Float BladeLandscape crews, finish gradingSmooth final passes, no surface tear
Angle Blade (Pro)Full-time contractors, municipalitiesSave time, skip repositioning, multi-use
Pro Tip: If you’re buying new, the SY35U Pro is where it’s heading. Standardization is simplifying the lineup to give you more upfront—no nickel-and-diming for key features.

What This Means for You

If you’re shopping new in 2025 or beyond, you’ve got two clear options:

  • Standard SY35: Straight blade + float + diverter valve
  • SY35 Pro: Angle blade + float + upgraded cab + diverter valve

If you stumble across a float-only SY35 in the used market and love the feel of it—great. But don’t expect that version to be around long, or in steady production.

⚠️ Heads up ⚠️
Because these upgrades rolled out mid-year in 2024, dealer lots may still carry mixed configurations. Not every SY35 you see will match the full 2025 spec—so be sure to confirm blade type, float functionality, and cab features before you buy.
